Aditi Dasi
Aditi Dasi has practised the teachings of the Bhagavad-gītā all her life, and for more than twenty years she has taught them to children and adults.
She was initiated in the ISKCON tradition. She teaches the Gītā verse by verse and uses stories, so that its teachings feel like advice from someone who knows you.
Over two decades she has taught students from age four to sixty, in India and in Canada, and today more than eighty children join her live weekend classes online.
In India she owned and ran a school, so she worked with children every day long before she taught them the Gītā. After she moved to Canada she found ISKCON and met her guru, and the Gītā became the centre of her life. She still works as an educator in Canada, and her Gītā classes bring that work together with the tradition she loves most.
तद्विद्धि प्रणिपातेन परिप्रश्नेन सेवया ।उपदेक्ष्यन्ति ते ज्ञानं ज्ञानिनस्तत्त्वदर्शिनः ॥tad viddhi praṇipātena paripraśnena sevayāupadekṣyanti te jñānaṁ jñāninas tattva-darśinaḥ
“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth.”

How Aditi Dasi teaches
Begin with a story
Each class opens with a story, such as Arjuna's dilemma or Prahlada's courage. The tradition has always taught through stories, and children remember them long after class.
Learn the verse itself
Students chant the shlokas with careful pronunciation and gradually learn them by heart. Then they go through the Sanskrit word by word, so they understand what they are saying.
Bring it into the week
Each lesson ends with a practical question about what the verse asks of the student this week. Aditi Dasi wants every student to take the verse with them when class ends.
The tradition she teaches from
Aditi Dasi teaches from the Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, in the line of teachers descending through Śrīla Prabhupāda and the ISKCON tradition. The Gītā has passed from teacher to student in this line for generations, and your family learns it the same way.
