Everything families ask us
These are the questions families ask us most often. If yours isn't here, send us a message and we'll reply within a day or two.
The classes
What is Sanatan Seeds?
Sanatan Seeds offers live online Bhagavad Gita classes for children and adults, taught by Aditi Dasi, an ISKCON-initiated educator with more than twenty years of experience. Classes meet on Google Meet in small groups, on weekday evenings and weekends.
Are the classes live or recorded?
Every class is live and interactive. Students are called on by name, ask questions, and chant together. Nothing is a pre-recorded video course.
What platform do you use for online classes?
Classes run on Google Meet. You receive your class link on WhatsApp or by text message after registering, and all you need is a device with a steady internet connection. On a computer the class opens in your web browser; on a phone or tablet, use the free Google Meet app.
What language are the classes taught in?
Children's classes are taught in English, and adult classes are taught in Hindi. No Sanskrit background is needed for either; shlokas are learned gradually in class, with pronunciation guidance and word meanings.
When do classes take place?
Each open children's batch meets once a week for an hour, on a Monday or Wednesday evening or on the weekend, in Eastern Time. The timetable on the Classes page shows every batch and which ones are full. Adult classes in Hindi meet on weekends, and we share exact times when you register.
Who teaches the classes?
Aditi Dasi, a lifelong practitioner initiated in the ISKCON tradition, has taught the Bhagavad Gita to children and adults for more than twenty years. She teaches from the Bhagavad-gita As It Is, in the line of teachers descending through Srila Prabhupada.
For children and parents
What age can my child start Bhagavad Gita classes?
Children start as young as four. Our open children's batches take any child from 4 to 17, and Aditi Dasi has taught students of every age in that range.
Does my child need to know Hindi or Sanskrit?
No. Children's classes are taught in English. Sanskrit shlokas are learned gradually in class, with pronunciation guidance and word meanings.
What do children learn in the classes?
Children learn stories from the Gita and the Mahabharata, memorize shlokas with their meanings, and connect each verse to everyday situations: honesty, courage, focus, and dealing with pressure at school.
How big are the class groups?
Groups are kept small enough that Aditi Dasi knows every student by name and every child participates in every class.
Enrollment and pricing
How much do the classes cost?
Children's classes are $80 CAD per child per month, and adult classes are $100 CAD per person per month. One monthly fee covers weekly live classes and all materials.
